Debate: Motions for Semi-Finals Out: O. T. Vs Prempeh/KUHIS vs B-PRESEC- Who Goes to the Final?

All is set for the semi final clashes in the High School Debate Competition as four schools bid to secure two tickets to the grand finale.

The motions are set, the adrenaline is high, anxiety is rising, tongues are wagging, pulses are rising, tension is reaching a crescendo. Which school will make it to the grand finale? Prempeh College takes on Osei Tutu SHS on the motion “Juvenile Offenders Should be tried and treated as Adults”. Christian Service University College is the venue. Will it be O. T. or Prempeh College? At stake is a trip to the beautiful Dubai or Europe, the stakes are too high. The two schools have in their fold some very wonderful Debaters who will be doing justice to this very ancient topic. In the end, only 1 out of the 2 schools will qualify.

Kumasi High school takes on surprise package Presby SHS, BOMPATA on another exciting motion “There’s nothing wrong with celebrities showing their wealth on social media”. Perhaps one of the most interesting debate topics not to miss. The two schools have proven to be formidable in the competition so far. Only time will tell who gets the nod to join the final train. Below are the Motions for the semi final and the road to the Semis.

Opoku Ware failed to make it an all boys school semi finals in this year’s High School Debate after falling to high flying Presbyterian Senior High School, BOMPATA in the ongoing competition.

With 262 points, PRESEC-B managed to outshine OWASS who manged 248 points on the day. The contest was the last quarter final contest after Kumasi High, Osei Tutu and Prempeh College secured qualification earlier. OWASS win could have made it an all Boys smile final clash but B-Presec had other ideas for OWASS.

Prempeh College will therefore meet Osei Tutu SHS in the semifinal 1 while Kumasi High School will clash with Presec, Bompata in the other semi final contest.
