The University of Ghana, the premier university and the largest university in Ghana was founded as the University College of the Gold Coast by Ordinance on August 11, 1948 for the purpose of providing and promoting university education, learning and research.

The University of Ghana is one of Ghana’s leading Universities.

What Is Tuition Fees?

The tuition fees covers the cost of your undergraduate degree at the University as well as charges for registration, tuition, supervision, and examinations. 

Your graduation ceremony, the facilities and equipment you need to complete your studies, such as computer rooms, access to laptops, the Library, and laboratories, et cetera are all covered by the tuition fees.

New and better facilities for students such as teaching buildings, a gym, and other recreational facilities can be built from the tuition fees.

More cash also means the university can offer a higher salary to attract better teachers.

Undergraduate school fees at the University of Ghana, Legon is paid annually and based on the programme you are studying.

UG Legon Tuition Fees.

International Students are expected to pay between GH¢ 20,000 and GH¢70,000 per year for an undergraduate degree programme. 

For a postgraduate degree programme, you should expect to pay between GH¢ 20,000 and GH¢ 64,000 per year.

Ghanaian student may pay an average of GH¢ 9,900 to GH¢ 12,600 annually.
