When Will The NTC Open Registration For The Provisional License For Teachers?

The NTC has Officially Opened Registration For The Provisional License For Teachers.

In this article, we will aid you with guidelines on how to register.

The National Teaching Council is mandated by the Education Act 2008 (Act 778), Section 9 to improve professional standing and status of teachers and to ensure licensing and registration of teachers in Ghana.

The purpose of the Licensing Examination is to enable qualified teachers to acquire a professional license and also prepare teachers to meet the demands of the National Teachers’ Standards of possessing the minimum knowledge, skills, values and attitudes necessary to deliver effectively in schools.

What Is A Provisional License?

It is a non-renewable three-year license issued to teachers, administrators and pupil service professionals.

Qualification For the Licensure Examination.

1. All Prospective candidates who hold the Diploma in Basic Education(BE), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), M. Ed and are desirous of seeking employment as teachers.

The candidates are to apply online at www.exams.ntc.gov.gh and complete the application form for the licensure examination.

2. All the above-mentioned candidates who completed qualify to write the examination at a Regional Centre of your choice.

3. Candidates who have written the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination and are not successful as well as fresh candidates can register.

How To Register For The NTC Licensure Examination.

  • After checking your confirmation status, visit the portal once again and click the “New Registration” button to begin the NTC registration procedure.
  • Then login by entering the Serial Number and PIN from the voucher payment receipt you received from the bank or purchased online.
  • After logging in, you will be asked to select an examination centre.
  • After selecting a Region, the NTC Registration portal will open.
  • Enter your personal information.

(Such as your name, contact information, address, qualification, school name, program of study, and class attained, as well as your profile image, on the page). 

Then review information and press the submit button.

  • After submitting the form, you will receive a page with your examination information and a provisional timetable.
  • Print Summary of the inputs made.

(You will need to keep your PIN and SERIAL NUMBER very well because you will need it for your examination.

Fees For Registration.

  • Fresh candidates are required to pay GH¢ 220.00 to register for the examination.
  • Candidates who are resitting are to pay GH¢100.00 for one each Resit paper.
  • Candidates who are resitting two (2) papers are to pay GH¢ 200.00.
  • Candidates who are resitting all the three (3) papers are to pay GH¢ 220.00.

How To Make Payment.

Payment can be made at any branch of GCB Bank LTD nationwide.

(Candidates must notify the Bank as fresh students, resitting one, two or three papers.)

Take Pin and Serial No. from GCB Bank Ltd after payment.

NOTE: You will need it for your registration.

The exam will be taken from the 25th of September to 27th September, 2022.
