Latest Update on GES Promotions, Opening of Portal, Exam etc- 2022
The Ghana Education Service has not opened the Promotions Portal for GES Staff to commence the exercise for this academic year. Many teachers have been asking if the Portal is opened for them to input their details but our checks reveal that this year’s exercise has not began yet.
Before the Portal will be officially opened, various Directorates will be notified and modalities given. Again before the exercise commences last year’s batch who were successful will be put on scale or upgraded and their Appointment Letters issued to pave way for this year’s exercise. Teachers must therefore exercise restraint. There have been various information from various platforms about the opening of the portal which is contrary to our official sources.
However teachers preparing to apply for this year’s promotions must make their documents available in scanned forms and clearly labeled as such. This will be uploaded when the portal is officially opened. Documents such as;
- Last Promotion or Upgrading Letter (where applicable)
- Last Appointment Letter (where applicable, those not promoted before)
- Passport sized photograph
- Other documents as may be approved for this year’s promotions letter.
Every year, the Ghana Education Service conducts promotion for staff who are due to move up in rank. The promotions are done to prepare personnel for higher positions. Promotions are also meant to reinforce or motivate staff to give off their best in the discharge of their duties. Promotions also lead to the enhancement of the salary of staff of the service. Staff of the Service look up to promotions every year and prepare to take advantage of the opportunity to move up in rank. Both Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Promotions are under the ambit of the GES. Various means of assessment for promotions are used to determine which personnel should be promoted.
