UNIVERSITY OF GHANA BACHELOR OF ARTS
The general requirements for entry to Levels 100 and 200 of the bachelor’s degree programs are as follows:
West Africa Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSSCE) and equivalent qualifications whose candidates are admitted to Level 100.
- Other Qualifications: Other qualifications include International Baccalaurette (IB), IGCSE, GCSE, the American Grades 12 and 13 examinations and other external qualifications which have equivalences to the SSSCE and the GCE. Candidates with external qualifications are admitted to either Level 100 or Level 200, depending on the nature of qualification and their equivalences to local qualifications.
Please note that with effect from the 2007/2008 academic year, the University has ceased to accept applicants in possession of ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level certificates issued by the West African Examinations Council.

For guidance, applicants are to note the subject requirements in the calculation of aggregates for the various programmes offered:

- Three Electives from Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Elective Mathematics
- Agriculture (B.Sc.)

- Three Electives from, Chemistry, Physics & Biology/General Agriculture

- Core Mathematics, English & Science ( Minimum C4-6/D)
- Three Electives from, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Elective Mathematics

FACULTY OF ARTS/SOCIAL STUDIES
If you selected the Bachelor of Arts (BA) program, you will need to indicate which subjects within the Faculties of Arts and Socials Sciences you would like to be admitted into. You can select up to four subjects that you wish to be considered for.
COMBINATION OF SUBJECTS IN THE HUMANITIES
Owing to Time-Table constraints, it is not practicable to allow all the combinations of subjects that are desirable in the Humanities. Applicants are therefore advised to select the subjects of their preference from any three (for Level 200 entrants) and four (for Level 100 entrants) of the following groups of subjects; applicants are not to choose more than one subject from the same group:
