Venue for Inter-school Soccer Moved from Baba Yara Stadium: Check Out the Reason
Obuasi Len Clay Stadium will host this year’s Boys Soccer Competition of the Ashanti Region.
The decision was taken after the National Sports Authority communicated to the Ghana Education Service that a Team of CAF Inspectors will be inspecting the Baba Yara Stadium for Approval as CAF match venue for AFCON matches.
In order to preserve the facility and to keep it in good shape, the National Sports Authority has appealed to the GES to postpone the Boys Soccer Competition to allow for the inspection. However, due to the fact the GES cannot afford to postpone the boys soccer due to impending Athletics Competition, the Federation has decided to hold the matches at Obuasi Len Clay Stadium from Wednesday 6th July to 10th July, 2022.
The athletics competition will however return to the Baba Yara Stadium after the Boys Soccer.
