UNIVERSITY OF GHANA CAMPUSES
The university has three campuses: the Legon Campus (main), the Accra City Campus and the Korle-bu Campus. Legon, a suburb of Accra, is situated about thirteen kilometers away from the capital. It is also adjacent to East Legon, one of the most prestigious residential suburbs of Accra, and only about 20 minutes drive from the Kotoka International Airport. The academic year runs from August to May.
University of Ghana students come from across Ghana, Africa and throughout the world, representing diverse perspectives, experiences, backgrounds and cultures. Through the Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO), the university makes every effort to provide financial aid to qualified Ghanaian undergraduate applicants with limited finances.
UG through the Office of International Programmes encourages participation of international students through direct enrollment and exchange programmes. At present, international students number close to 1,500 students, drawn from over 71 countries.
The University has a centralized governing structure for students. At the core is the mother SRC which is on Legon campus. Aside from the central SRC, there are other satellite campuses. The other campuses are;

- Korle Bu Campus SRC
- Distance Education SRC
All these campuses are semi-autonomous bodies.
University of Ghana Campuses
Legon Campus
The Legon Campus lies about 13 kilometers north-east of Accra, the capital of Ghana. This is where most of the university’s teaching and research are carried out. The Legon Campus also houses the central administration of the university. there are a number of student residences located on the Legon Campus.
Korle-Bu Campus
The Korle-Bu Campus, headed by a Provost, houses the administration of the College of Health Sciences. Some of the constituent schools are also located on the Korle-Bu Campus; the School of Medicine and Dentistry and the School of Allied Health Sciences.
Accra City Campus
This campus is strategically located in the heart of the city and precisely at Adabraka and opposite the Ministry of Information.
Distance Education Campuses
The university has Distance Education campuses in the various regions where it runs a variety of programs, including degree courses. Awudome College has residential facilities that enable running of short courses, over weekends and other durations.
