The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) also known as the George Grant University of Mines and Technology is one of the best technology-centred universities in Ghana. Located in Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana, the university was formerly the Tarkwa Technical Institute which was later changed to the Tarkwa School of Mines.
