GES announces new ICT training date for public teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) says has announced Monday, May 16, 2022, as the new ICT training date to help public school teachers use the various e-learning resources that have been uploaded on the teachers’ Mate 1 laptops.

The new date comes after the management of GES citing no reason suspended the online Information and Communication training previously scheduled for February 16, 2022, for Junior and Senior High School teachers.

“Management of the Ghana Education Service will like to inform you that the online ICT training in connection with the One Teacher One laptop initiative scheduled for February 16, 2022, has been put on hold,” It said in a statemen

The Education Service in the statement copied to EducationWeb said it will liaise with suppliers of the state of the art laptops, K. A Technologies (KAT) and Microsoft to communicate a new date suitable for the nationwide training.

Following the new ICT training date, the Ghana Education Service has said it in collaboration with KA Technologies and Microsoft will organize physical training for JHS and SHS teachers in the five Northern and Greater Accra Regions.

“The intensive training will commence on Monday, May 16, 2022. The KAT champions (ICT coordinators trained by KAT) will support the training,” the GES said in the press release dated May 6, 2022, and copied to EducationWeb.com.gh.

Participants of the forthcoming training the management of the Service has said will receive points for their Continous Professional Development (CPD) and a certificate for participation upon successful completion and assessment.
