The inter school soccer competition for Ashanti Region kicked off today at various centers with 32 schools expected to qualify to the next level of competition scheduled for Baba Yara Stadium.

Our sources confirm that schools that have not fully vaccinated their players are likely not to qualify should a protest be filed against them.

This requirement was contained in the directive to all schools from government per the directive that lifted the ban on school sports. The government directive entreated schools to fully vaccinate all students and by extension all sportsmen or athletes in the school.

Following that directive, the federation entreated all schools to fully vaccinate their players before engaging in the matches in compliance to the directive.

Reports from the various centers suggest that some schools are using players who are not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated at all.

Per the agreed modalities for the competition, the federation has resolved that if any school lodges a protest against another institution over issues of vaccination, and the issue is found to be true, the accused school is likely to lose points or be disqualified.

The various regional federations are taking strong posture towards the impunity of schools not doing the right thing.

Hopefully all schools will present fully vaccinated players to avoid suffering any disqualification or loss of points.
