The financial situation in the country is so high that parents find it difficult to provide for the children. Their education is currently suffering as a result of this.

Knowing fully well that there is no tertiary education for them after secondary school, some don’t bother wasting their time studying.

However, there’s a piece of great news. There’s a scholarship opportunity for all students to have a fair share of tertiary education irrespective of their financial setback.

THE GETFUND SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME.

GETFund is the acronym of The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).

It  is a public trust set up by an Act of Parliament in the year 2000. Its key commission is to provide funding to boost government effort for the supply of educational infrastructure and facilities within the public sector from the basic to the tertiary level.

It supports tertiary students in Ghana financially. It pays the tuition fees of the students as well as takes care of some of their expenses. It doesn’t only support students in Local universities but also sponsors students abroad for either their undergraduate, masters or PhD degree.

It doesn’t matter your field of study, be it; Humanities, Technology, Science, Mathematics just to mention a few.

One vital requirement is that you have a Ghanaian citizenship.

HOW DO YOU APPLY FOR A GETFUND SCHOLARSHIP?

  • Create an account.
  • A copy of a proof of your nationality (Passport, Ghana Card)
  • A scanned copy of your admission letter clearly stating the program duration.
  • A scanned copy of approved fee list.
  • A scanned copy first degree certificate (Masters and PhD applicants only.)
  • Scanned copy of other degree certificate (PhD applicants only).
  • Scanned copy of previous records.(Masters and PhD applicants only).
  • Scanned copy of National Service Certificate where applicable (Masters and PhD applicants only).
  • Copy of Curriculum Vitae (Masters and PhD applicants only).
