All Hail Opoku Ware School; OWASS Wows KUHIS & O.T. To Win NSMQ – Ashanti

Opoku Ware School humbled Kumasi High School and Osei Tutu SHS in the finals of the Ashanti Region Championship of the National Science and Maths Quiz Competition. OWASS proved that experience is indeed the best teacher having sneaked through to the finals after a tie breaker with Prempeh College. Many wrote off OWASS and had their bets on Kumasi High School and Osei Tutu SHS after their semi final exploits but Opoku Ware School had it all figured out as they mesmerized Osei Tutu SHS and Kumasi High School to win the Regional Championship and take over the trophy from last year’s winners Prempeh College.

Kumasi High however were no pushovers as they matched the OWAREANS boot for boot right from Round one losing out narrowly in the last round of the contest.

Osei Tutu are still trying to figure out what hit them in the final as the Abrempong looked dazed in the final having qualified in such a grand style after accounting for defending champions Prempeh College. The Akropong based school raised so much hope but disappointed woefully in the finals in an astonishing fashion.

The 26 qualified schools will now turn their attention to the National Competition which kicks off right after WASSCE 2022.
