https://www.collinsdictionary.com also defined it as a school which is not supported financially by the government and which parents have to pay for their children to go to.

Parents of Junior High School Students would want their wards to attend reputable Senior High Schools in the country.

Parents, who can afford it, often enrol their wards in such schools.

With the computerised Placements, candidates will have to select from seven categories of schools namely; Category A, B, C, D, E, F and G.

This is made up of Public, Private, Technical and Vocational Schools.

Category A, B, C and D constitute all state-owned Senior High Schools.

Category E is a list of Public Technical/Vocational institutes.

Category F and G are Private owned Senior High/Technical and vocational schools.

The list is created and constantly upgraded by the Ghana Education Service (GES) each year to direct students, parents, and teachers. 

Academic performance at West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination(WASSCE), School’s achievements, Infrastructure, and facilities are among the important ranking factors the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) and the Ghana Education Service (GES) use to rank Senior High Schools in Ghana.

Parents who do not like the schools the Computerised placement has given their wards also patronise the private schools.

Some parents also send their wards who did not do well in the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination hence did not get schools to such schools.
