Dr. Yaw Adutwum launches Pre-Engineering programme for Senior High School graduates
A new Pre-Engineering programme have been launched by the Minister of Education,Dr. Yaw Adutwum for graduates of Senior High Schools in the country.
This all new Pre-Engineering programme is a program developed which will allow Senior High School graduates with non-science backgrounds to be able to pursue Bachelor of Science in Engineering course at the university.
According to the Minister of Education, this Pre-Engineering programme is a game changer and will offer Senior High School graduates who did non-science courses especially Visual Arts graduates who have the desire and possess the ability to do engineering programs at the University.
This first batch of this Pre-Engineering programme will begin at the following universities in February, 2022.
1. University of Mines and Technology (UMAT)
2. Pentecost University.
This Pre-Engineering programme is in accordance with the Education Strategic Plan 2018-2030 which targets a 60% enrollment of students in tertiary education enrolled in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
