GALOP Laptops Ready For Distribution to 10,000+ Beneficiary Schools As Cohort 4 Workshop Ends 31st Dec.

With the last batch of training for Cohorts 4 set to be completed by 31st December, 2021, all is set for the distribution of Laptops, Modems and other accessories to over 10,000 GALOP Schools across the country. TRAINING OF REGIONAL AND DISTRICT TRAINERS ON HARMONIZED DATA TOOL AND ACCOUNTABILITY DASHBOARD UNDER GALOP commenced a couple of weeks ago under the distinguished patronage of Director for Programs and Partnerships at the Headquarters of Ghana Education Service, Mr. Frederick Birikorang.

The training is to equip District and Regional Officers to deliver downstream training on the features of the the harmonized data tool and accountability dashboard and to support GALOP beneficiary school to input accurate data on their schools in the system. Cohort 4 comprise Volta, Upper West, Northern and North East Regions.

The mobile School Report Card (mSRC) has been designed to access real-time information galop schools.

The mSRC platform receives useful data on weekly and termly school reports, list of Teachers, student enrollment, student attendance, teacher attendance, Pupil performance, number of textbooks, security issues, furniture, sanitation among other relevant information in the school.
Under the GALOP initiative, all beneficiary schools with the exception of stand-alone KGs will receive 1 HP branded Laptop, a modem for internet connectivity and data. This is to enable Heads of GALOP Schools to input relevant data without excuses.
Sources indicate that the HP laptops are ready for distribution to the Regional levels for onward distribution to thw districts and subsequently to the beneficiary schools.
The ministry of education and the Ghana Education Service are using the GALOP initiative to improve the performances of less performing schools.
The data to be captured will ensure monitoring and decision making on galop schools.

The completion of Cohort 4 on 31st December will pave way for downstream training programs where it is expected that beneficiary schools will be given their laptops, Modems and Data.
