Inter-Co & Suzo Set To Be Postponed; New Date to Be Communicated
This year’s inter school and colleges athletics competition for the Ashanti Region scheduled to start on Thursday 14th July is set to be postponed or rescheduled.
This decision set to be communicated to member schools officially by the Directorate is to afford organizers the needed time to plan and execute the athletics compettion to perfection. In the view of the closeness of the competition to WASSCE exams which starts in mid August, the federation thought it wise to postpone the competition. The Federation intended to start and complete the games by end of July.
The new date will be communicated to schools later on.
Final years students who are athletes will be eligible to compete for selection into the Regional Team even after completing.
The federation is currently staging the boys soccer competition at the Len Clay stadium in Obuasi. The athletics competition was supposed to follow the soccer immediately but has now been postponed.
Hopefully, there would be light at the end of the tunnel for the much anticipated school athletics to bounce back after almost two years absence.
