• Aburi Botanical Gardens

• Akosombo Dam

The Akosombo Dam has been one of the most visited places in the Eastern Region. It is known for its hydroelectric dam which was built on the Volta River in 1965 by Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.  

According to Ice.Org.UK, “it is responsible for the largest artificial body of water in the world.”

The twin waterfall has been a good destination for many tourists. It is situated in Boti in the Yilo Krobo District. The Boti Falls is 98 feet tall which is roughly 30 metres. The Boti Falls was discovered in 1903 by a Catholic Priest as it was hidden in the forest.

To get access to the falls, you need to pay an entrance fee of Ghc 30 and Ghc 20 for Ghanaian adults and children respectively while foreigners pay Ghc 40.
