Ghana Hostels Limited (GHL) is a limited liability Company established in 1999 as one of the investee companies of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to address the yawning gap in the provision of descent hostel accommodation to the growing tertiary student population in Ghana. Technically, therefore, in January 2012, the Board of Trustees of SSNIT, the sole shareholder, successfully converted GHL into a Hostel Management Company to manage its hostels across the country.
The Company has branches in the campuses of the various public universities, that is, University of Ghana-Legon campus, popularly known as Pentagon; Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology-Kumasi; University of Cape Coast; University of Education, Winneba; University for Development Studies-Nyankpala and Navrongo. The total rooms in all the facilities (branches) stand at 1,620 with over 4,500 beds and has staff strength of 87.

The management concept is professionalism, integrity, accountability and quality service that guarantees maximum return from investment, while maintaining hostel properties at the highest standard and affordable prices.
Ghana Hostels Limited, though primarily established to manage hostels for SSNIT, has the capability and capacity to offer property management services in other hostels, condominiums, and commercial property management in Ghana. The Company has over 15 years of experience in the hostel business, and currently boasts of having one of the largest and better-managed hostel facilities in the country. A tour to the facility will speak volumes of professional competence in property management.
