UTAG STRIKE: Lectures Resume On Monday

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has notified it’s community of the commencement of lectures.

The notification from the University to it’s stakeholders comes after the National Executive Council (NEC) of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) suspended it’s strike action, pending acceptance from it’s membership.

UTAG had been on strike after it blamed the government of Ghana for failing to fulfill it’s part of the agreement on Condition of service for public University Teachers across the country.

According to the directive from the University of Cape Coast, lectures will commence on Monday, February 26, 2022.

The directive, dated February 23, 2022 was signed by the Director, Academic Affairs of the University.

Members of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) have five days to vote to decide, whether or not to accept the suspension of the strike action as indicated by National Executive Committee.
