Student Leaders in Ashanti Commend Min. Of Educ. For His One Year Pre-Engineering Program For Non-Science Students

The President of the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council, Delancy Ama Aya on behalf of senior high school students in Ashanti Region has commended the efforts and ingenuity of the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum for the introduction of the one year pre-engineering program which seeks to give Non-Science students the opportunity to offer Engineering courses in University.

The Regional President made the comment at the first General Meeting and Launch of the silver jubilee anniversary of the ARSRC in Kumasi.

Commenting on the Minister’s effort at giving opportunities to General Arts, Business and Visual Arts Students to offer various engineering programs through a one year intensive program at Pentecost University and U-MAT, Delancy stated “The ingenuity and creativity of the Honourable Minister of Education is very commendable. The entire students of Ashanti Region are very grateful for this window of opportunity for non science students to offer engineering programs. His vision for Visual Arts Students is very commendable and we are very grateful to him.”

She however called for more universities to come on board apart from the two universities. “we call for other universities to come on board to expand this vision of the Minister and make this opportunity accessible to all interested students”
Delancy Ama Aya, President of the ARSRC and a student of KNUST SHS also commended the Minister for his vision for STEM Education.
Student leaders from One hundred and twenty three (123) schools were present at the meeting held at Anglican Senior High School in Kumasi.
