The University of Ghana, Legon has officially published its admission fees schedule for the academic year for Regular, sandwich, and Distance students. In this case, both continuing students and especially freshers are to take note of such vital information on the school’s official website. Students who have just gained admission to the university of Ghana are referred to as Freshers. Students(Freshers) who do not pay their admission fees before school resumes for an academic year, won’t be allowed to register for academic courses.

All continuing students and especially freshers are to pay their fees through the trans-flow platform of certain accredited banks of the University such as Stanbic Bank, Prudential Bank, Access Bank, etc. University of Ghana School admission fee is a fee that you must pay to any university as a first-year student/fresher denoting that you have accepted the course and in general the admission that has been offered to you by the school’s management.

The amount of tuition you pay will depend on factors such as your program and year of study, your course load, and your campus. While the exact tuition fees for each academic year are typically finalized before the academic year begins, you can take a look at the previous year’s amounts in your area of study to get an idea of how much you’ll pay in tuition.

Remember that in addition to tuition, your total fees will include residential fees. There are several other costs to factor into your budget — for example, the cost of books, educational supplies, food, and residence.

Fee-paying students pay much higher admission fees than Ordinary or Regular students, However, admission fees are generally in the same range for undergraduate students.

• Admission Fees

✓ Undergraduate fees GHS2000+ – GHS3000

✓ Postgraduate fees GHS3000+ – GHS4500

✓ International fees $800 – $3000

•NB: Endeavor to pay your school fees on time before the deadline to avoid stories that touch the heart.

Academic Registration

•50% before registration for Semester/Modular 1

•30% before registration for Semester/Modular 2

•Final 20% before examination for Semester/Modular 2

Residential Registration

  • 100% of the Semester/Modular fees.

Things students should note before paying the fees :

Students must take note of the following when making payments;

1. Only pay fees at the University of Ghana APPROVED BANKS.

2. All deposits at the bank should be made with a FEE DEPOSIT SLIP.

3. All deposits at the bank should be made with CASH ONLY.

4. Always ensure that STUDENT INDEX NUMBER and NAMES are correctly quoted.

5. Always ensure the AMOUNT quoted on the receipt is the correct amount paid.

6. Ensure the account name is that of the UNIVERSITY OF GHANA. Keep your deposit slips safely.

7. Payments by CHEQUE (NO PERSONAL CHEQUES) can be made at the University’s Cash Office ONLY.

Student fees can be paid using any of the following mediums:

✓ At the bank

✓ Online using a Visa card or Mastercard – https://sts.ug.edu.gh/ugpay

✓ International transfers (All charges relating to the transfer should be paid by the student)

•NB: These will not be tolerated by the University.
