1TIL: JHS Teachers In About 10 Districts Have Not Received Their Laptops

As some junior high school teachers are happily enjoying their customized Teachers Mate laptops in some districts like Twifo Atti-Morkwa, some are also anxious about not receiving theirs as the month of February is almost ended.

According to the GES, the distribution of the laptops for basic schools started in January 2022 when basic schools reopened. Some have speculated that from January to March is meant to give out the subsidized laptops to JHS teachers. Shortly after that, the primary division follows in the month of March 2022.

It will interest you to know that when I published an article about the failure of Afigya Kwabere Education Directorate in the Ashanti Region to distribute the laptops to teachers, I have received several other feedbacks from affected JHS teachers in other parts of the country who have not received their laptops so far nor have heard anything from their respective education district offices.

Teachers are surprised that the KA Technologies, manufacturer of teachers laptops have already manufactured and supplied more than 200,000 laptops to the Ghana Education Service headquarters for onward delivery to all the Education district offices. These laptops cover teachers from public second cycle institutions to basic schools. Meanwhile, why is it that some education offices do not have the laptops or refuse to give out the laptop if they have them in their custody?

It comes therefore as a shock to the affected teachers and well-meaning Ghanaians why some districts have not been able to give the laptops out. One cannot ascertain whether the districts have the laptops to distribute.

So far, nine district education offices have not been able to distribute the laptops to teachers. They include but not limited to the following : Ejisu Municipal, Afigya Kwabere, Sekyere Central, Kwahu East,Asene Manso, Akroso District ,Kwabere East,Kwahu South, Atwima Kwanwoma and Kpandai District.
