It was one sunny afternoon when I went to check out my school placement. Lo and behold I had Afua Kobi Ampem Girls’senior high school. In fact it was a joyous day because it was my dream to become an “OWOAHENE” which came to pass.

With joy I visited the school to get get my admission and prospectus. I reported on the required date given me and I became sad when I was left alone by my parents but I became happy when I was able to make some friends. I was overwhelmed.

Waking up at dawn to do morning duties, going to class, going for preps in the evening were all weekdays activities. The most annoying part was Saturday scrubbing and when the sisters in form 2 and 3 would send you an unnecessary errand but we were expected to be humble and go by their words. All the same, there were happy moments like interschool competitions, interco, as we affectionately called it, inter-houses, funfair, interschool debate and quizzes where we visited different schools and others also visited us, Saturday entertainment was also a major source of happiness.

Due to hardwork and effective disciplinary movement, I was able to attain the position of a zonal secretary for the Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council that is the ARSRC. I worked very hard to promote equity in the zone entrusted into my care.

Through my three years stay in Afua Kobi Ampem Girls, it was time to write my final exam and leave the school. It took us a whole to finish this exam. Finally the day we had waited for long arrived. With jubilation all over, chanting and all forms of happy gestures, I gave my clearance form to the security man and left the school with my parents.

Dear future generation, school life is not easy especially combining house duties and prefectship with your academics but above all, you must learn very hard to attaiy all required certificates which will benefit you to achieve your goals. Humility is also a key, be humble to all authorities including one’s mates as well as seniors then add discipline to ensure your harmonious living in the senior high school.
